SKKU: SKKU Records the Highest Employment Retention Rate in ‘Employment Status of Graduates’ Among Universities in Seoul, Korea

Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU) and Sogang University are shown to have the highest retention employment rate of graduates among universities located in Seoul, Korea. In addition, other universities with strong college of engineering had high retention employment rate.


According to quarterly analysis of Seoul universities graduates’ employment rate which was published in ‘University Alert’ on the 27th, Sungkyunkwan University and Sogang University recorded the highest employment retention rate in the “Employment Status of Graduates.”


The employment retention rate is an indicator of the employment rate that examines whether graduate students continue to work in the workplace where they are employed after a certain period of time. The Ministry of Education conducts the research in order to prevent expedient cases that applies part-time job or short-term employment as ‘regular’ employment rate. This research is conducted quarterly using employee health insurance database(DB) every June.

An official of SKKU said that “In the COVID-19 pandemic, we took a preemptive action and provided online and offline employment support program for students through advanced training infrastructure. As the student’s vision of success is materialized as employment after graduation, we plan to invest all resources in students’ careers and employment in the future.”
