SKUAST-Jammu conducts virtual training programme on Animal Welfare, Equine Behaviour

Jammu: Five day national online training programme on ‘Animal Welfare and Equine Behaviour’ organized by Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu, in collaboration with Brooke India, concluded here today.

The trainees mainly included internees and post graduate students. They were briefed about various aspects of animal welfare and equine behaviour viz what is welfare, different framework of welfare assessment, equine behaviour and its interpretation and compassionate handling of animals etc., by the expert speakers – Dr. Nidhish Bharadwaj, Head, Animal health and welfare and Dr Sarita Negi, Head, Animal welfare and research, Brooke India.

Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. J.P. Sharma was Chief Patron, Brig. Dharmadheeran was Patron and Prof. J. S. Soodan, HoD, TVCC was Chairmen for the said training.

Dr. S.R. Upadhyay, course director of the training moderated the event successfully for five days. The students express their gratitude and happiness for such exposure.
