SKUAST Jammu organises Interaction Meet Under NAHEP-IDP
JAMMU : NAHEP-IDP SKUAST-Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor, today organized an Interaction Meet for the students.
Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Horticulture Commissioner and National Coordinator, National Agricultural Higher Education Project – Centre of Advanced Agricultural Science & Technology (NAHEP -CAAST) interacted and deliberated upon the role of NAHEP-IDP in enhancing the knowledge and shaping the career of Undergraduate students.
Dr. Prabhat advised students to travel during their learning stage to make it more dynamic which helps to gain passive knowledge. He said that the NAHEP-IDP project is first of its kind in the country and is actually for undergraduate students. He urged the students to focus on physical learning more to enhance knowledge and skills as digital learning can be supplemental to physical learning but not substitutional.
Dr. Prabhat Kumar in his interaction discussed the difference in Food security and nutritional security and possibilities to fill the gap. Global Hunger Index, agricultural marketing, capacity building etc were other topics which were discussed during the interaction meet. He also discussed benefits associated with the NAHEP-IDP project for a student and researcher and moreover bright students may get a chance to visit foreign countries for enhancing their knowledge and skill. After the interaction Dr. Prabhat answered the queries of students. Dr. Awani Kumar Singh, Principal Scientist, IARI, New Delhi was also present during the interaction meet. Earlier, Prof. B. C. Sharma, Head, Agronomy and Principal Investigator, NAHEP-IDP welcomed the guest and participants and also gave an overview of the NAHEP-IDP project. The lecture was attended by more than 60 students. Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi and Dr. Anjani Singh also attended the meet. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat, Associated Scientist NAHEP-IDP.
At the end, vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Manish Sharma, Nodal Officer, NAHEP-IDP.
