Smiling Tree Organized Plantation Drive at Gyan Bharati School

Smiling Tree Organized a Plantation drive at Gyan Bharati School, Saket, Delhi.The drive was mainly to make students aware about the environment and how to make Earth a green and better place. Environmentalist Dr Mukesh Kwatra, Founder of Smiling Tree, gave a brief insight into the different species of plants, how and where to plant them and the right time to plant a particular species.

Dr Kwatra said, “There are many age-appropriate opportunities for gardening projects that instill a love for nature lasting a lifetime. Watching a plant grow is so fascinating for a child. Watching hummingbirds and butterflies visit flowers they’ve grown, or eating fruits and veggies from their own garden gives a real sense of pride to them.”

Prominent educationist and Director of the school, Lata Vaidyanathan Ma’am was all praise for the drive, “Smiling Tree brings charming smiles on both young and old together by their green endeavors. Learning doesn’t always have to mean books and staying indoors. Letting kids get their hands dirty in soil and planting trees is equally important if not more”, she quoted.

Smiling Tree also organized a plantation drive at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, Delhi, where they planted over 300 saplings. The medical fraternity of the Hospital joined in and carried out the plantation with profound enthusiasm.
