Smiling Tree Partners with KR Mangalam University to Plant Hundreds of Saplings during ‘Van Mahotsav Week’

 

 

In celebration of ‘Van Mahotsav Week’, Smiling Tree, in collaboration with NSS KR Mangalam University (KRMU), KEIC STI Hub, and sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, successfully conducted a tree plantation drive. The event took place at Garhi Wajidpur village, KRMU Campus, Gurugram, where hundreds of saplings were planted.

 

The drive witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the Vice Chancellor of KRMU, Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Registrar Dr. Rahul Sharma, NSS Coordinator Dr. Neeraj Kumari, along with faculty staff and students of KRMU. This collective effort highlights the commitment of KRMU and Smiling Tree towards environmental sustainability and community engagement.

 

Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, Founder of Smiling Tree, expressed his joy and satisfaction with the event, stating, “Partnering with KR Mangalam University for Van Mahotsav Week has been a fulfilling experience. Our aim is to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation and contribute to a greener future. This initiative is a step towards achieving that goal.”

 

Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Vice Chancellor of KRMU, shared his thoughts on the event, saying, “It is heartening to see our students and faculty come together for such a noble cause. Our collaboration with Smiling Tree and support from DST underscores our dedication to environmental conservation.”

 

Van Mahotsav, an annual tree-planting festival in India, is a significant event aimed at creating awareness about the need for tree plantation and the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance. This year’s initiative by Smiling Tree and KRMU serves as a reminder of their collective responsibility towards nature.
