Smriti Irani inaugurates Poshan Utsav to celebrate culmination of 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah

Women and Child Development Minister Smirti Irani inaugurated the three-day Poshan Utsav at Kartavyapath in New Delhi on Friday evening. The event is being organised by the Ministry to mark the culmination of the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Irani appealed to all stakeholders to contribute immensely in this Utsav to eradicate the challenge of Malnutrition from the country. She also appealed to all concerned people to resolve to make India malnutrition free.

AIR Correspondent reports that the objective of Poshan Utsav is to disseminate to the people the critical messages on the importance of correct nutrition, particularly for young children and women, and sensitize them on age-appropriate good health practices to address the challenges of malnutrition in the country.

The event was followed by a musical performance by popular singer Shaan. A large number of people, including school children attended this event with great enthusiasm.
