Software Development Centre of Wipro Group to open in Bhopal: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Wipro chief Shri Azim Premji, is doing unique work in the field of social service along with the field of industry. His social services can be considered as an example and role model. The initiative taken by the Azim Prem Ji Foundation for establishment of a university in Madhya Pradesh is commendable. For this, the Government of Madhya Pradesh will extend all possible support to the Foundation. Along with this, the Wipro Group’s consent to set up a software development centre in Bhopal is important for Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was holding a discussion with Shri Premji of Wipro through video conference today. The Chief Minister discussed about Shri Premji’s partnership in the implementation of education schemes, new education policy, establishment of model Anganwadi in Bal Bhavan and eradication of malnutrition in the state.
Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Manish Rastogi, Director Public Relations Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh were also present in the video conference.
Software development centre
In the video conference, discussion was held regarding the establishment of Wipro’s Software Development Centre in Bhopal. Shri Premji told Shri Chouhan about his consent to set up this centre. All necessary work will be started in this regard. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that more employment is being generated for the youth through their skill development in Madhya Pradesh. Such development centres will go a long way in providing more opportunities to the youth in the IT sector. In today’s discussion, Shri Premji said that Madhya Pradesh will get full cooperation from the Wipro Group.
Land allotted for university in Bhopal, plan will take shape in one and half year
APF (Azim Premji Foundation) in Bhopal has been allotted 50 acres of land for the university. Its first phase will start soon. The goal is to start the university in the next 18 months. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan assured Shri Premji that all the works related to the setting up of the university will be completed on time. This university will emerge as an important institution in the field of higher education in Bhopal.
Will make Wipro a knowledge partner
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan urged Shri Premji that Wipro Group should become a knowledge partner in the context of new education policy at the level of implementation to ensure good results. The Azim Premji Foundation can provide specialist services ranging from training to other activities. Shri Premji accepted the Chief Minister’s request and agreed to become knowledge partner.
Foundation will expand work in primary and secondary education sector
Shri Premji informed the Chief Minister that at present the Azim Premji Foundation is working in 1151 primary and middle schools of Madhya Pradesh. Currently, the Foundation conducts activities in five districts. It will also be expanded to other districts. Efforts will also be made to establish Adarsh Anganwadi at Jawahar Bal Bhawan in Bhopal and to develop a state-level research centre for pre-primary education. The Foundation is also conducting activities in the area of Early Childhood Care and Education at present.
Cooperation in eradication of malnutrition
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed Shri Premji that the focus in the state has been on health and education. We expect cooperation of the foundation in the field of eradication of malnutrition and nutrition awareness. Shri Premji spoke of extending cooperation in this field also.
CM tell Shri Premji about creativity of self-help groups
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed Shri Premji that three and a half lakh women self-help groups are doing excellent work in Madhya Pradesh. These have been given the nature of a movement, which has led to enhanced utility and economic prosperity of the groups. Around 3.5 million women belonging to the groups were involved in the work of making face masks even during the Corona period. They have handled five of the seven factories engaged in preparation of Ready to Eat consumables. The state government has provided training, interest subsidy and marketing facilities to the groups.
