South Summit and the Government of South Korea sign agreement to hold South Summit Korea from September 25th to 27th
Madrid: South Summit Korea, an event co-organized by IE University, will be held from September 25th to 27th in the Korean province of Gyeonggi. María Benjumea, president and founder of South Summit; Nacho Mateo, vice president of South Summit; Youngsang Bae, Director of the Startup Department of Gyeonggi Province, and Jennifer Park, Deputy Director General of Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA), recently signed the agreement that confirms the celebration of this event, the first edition of South Summit in Asia.
After her signature, María Benjumea said that South Summit Korea will be “a verticalized event in Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence, two technologies that are already changing our lives and that are enjoying a great boost in South Korea”.
The Startup Competition, which will select the 30 most disruptive and innovative startups from around the world in the field of Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence, is now open. The competition will be open until July 24th.
María Benjumea thanked “the willingness of the South Korean delegation to connect the ecosystems of Europe and Asia through South Summit”, as well as South Korea’s “strong commitment to entrepreneurship and innovation”.
In this regard, Hyundae Kim, General Director of the Future Growth Office of Gyeonggi Province, said that South Summit Korea “will be a good opportunity to show to the world the capabilities of Korean startups. Thanks to this event, we hope that many of our entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to attract investors, enter overseas and become unicorns.”
