SPbPU and India Forge New Horizons of Development Through Cooperation
Since the establishment of the Russian-Indian Association of Higher Education Institutions in 2015, SPbPU’s ties with leading Indian universities have been developing fruitfully. Today, Polytechnic University is implementing several scientific projects with its colleagues with the support of Russian and Indian government funds and within the BRICS network.
At the end of March, Polytechnic University held an online meeting with Invest India, India’s national investment promotion and facilitation agency. The main activity of the agency is point support of local and foreign investors within the framework of the full cycle of investment in the Indian market.
SPbPU representatives discussed areas of cooperation with the Invest India agency under the Startup India program to promote Russian startups and breakthrough innovative projects to the Indian market, as well as Indian startups to the Russian market.
The global science and technology market is constantly changing, requiring the development and implementation of new ideas. Examples of such solutions are the projects of the international polytechnic Accelerator, which Polytechnic University presented at the meeting. Among them is the industrial automation Alfa-Platform software. This program is widely used in the Russian industry.
Water and wastewater treatment using ferrate is another technology relevant for both the Russian and Indian markets.
SPbPU offers the following projects for implementation in cooperation with scientists and specialists from Russia and India: sanitary monitoring system based on artificial intelligence; biotechnology for water protection in megacities; high-tech polymer composites; use of microalgae for carbon dioxide absorption.
One of the key discussions was the involvement of Indian experts to participate in accelerator programs of startups. This will make it possible to share experience, knowledge, and gain valuable insights into the specifics of the development of high-tech markets in India.

The parties discussed the assistance of the Invest India agency in organizing cooperation of Polytechnic University with industrial and professional associations in India in various areas.
Taking into account that metallurgical industry is very well developed in India, the meeting presented to the Indian side opportunities for cooperation in the development of physical and numerical models to optimize production processes in metallurgy.
Also, our university, which has extensive experience in retraining and advanced training of specialists of industrial and innovative companies, is ready to offer Indian partners the development of joint programs on the basis of Polytechnic University, including such cooperation is possible within the framework of online education.
Such projects not only contribute to the development of scientific knowledge and technologies, but also strengthen friendly relations between our countries and contribute to the creation of a favorable environment for innovation and development. International partnership in education, science and technology is a key factor of success in the modern world.
