SPbPU corporate master’s degree students received an internship in China
At the end of June, an international project «Embrace a Green and Wise Future of Energy» was implemented at the China Petroleum University (Beijing). A Russian-Chinese summer camp was opened in China, where representatives of three Russian universities came: SPbPU, Ufa State Petroleum Technical University and Ufa University of Science and Technology.
The best students of SPbPU’s corporate master’s degree programs received an internship in ChinaThe program was divided into several blocks: educational, sightseeing and cultural. The students listened to lectures on artificial intelligence, information technology and sustainable development, and visited the museum of the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation. Polytechnics also saw the main sights of the Celestial Empire — the Great Wall, the Tombs of the Ming Dynasty, the Olympic Park and the Forbidden City in the center of Beijing. As part of the cultural exchange, the students were taught Chinese language, calligraphy and Wushu. Here is what the students said about the trip.

In addition, we participated in a seminar on approaches to reducing our carbon footprint. The group was also able to visit the China National Petroleum Corporation. The company’s museum contains reference oil samples brought by Soviet engineers during the construction of the country’s first oil refinery. Representatives of the company speak with gratitude about the assistance provided by the USSR to China in the mid-20th century. And they emphasize the successful cooperation nowadays».
The Polytechnic saw the main sights of the Celestial EmpireThe internship was attended by students of corporate master’s degree programs “IT – Enterprise Infrastructure” and “IT Economics and Business Analysis”Anna Afonina, program IT-infrastructure of the enterprise: «Very interesting was the excursion to the CPU laboratory, where we were not only introduced to the advanced research areas of the university, but also showed a unique laboratory complex with the latest installations for analyzing the composition of oil. I would like to express huge gratitude to organizers for possibility to take part in discussion with Chinese students and to listen to lectures of professors of CPU and University of Calgary. The cultural program allowed to feel the contrast between modern life with its fast rhythm and traditional Chinese culture».
