SPbPU Enhances Cooperation with India Across Academic Frontiers

Representatives of Polytechnic University held a series of talks with Indian colleagues on the development of cooperation in online education, training of qualified specialists and joint research. The meetings took place as a result of the University’s participation in the First Indo-Russian Education Summit, which took place in April in New Delhi.

In recent years, distance education technologies have been rapidly developing in the Indian market, where more and more platforms providing online learning services are appearing. One such platform is UEDUCATE, an educational aggregator that allows students from India and other countries to choose courses from various universities around the world and take practical training at partner companies.

On the part of UEDUCATE, Mohan Kumar, Head of Promotion Department, took part in the talks with the Polytechnic University. On behalf of SPbPU, the meeting was attended by Svetlana Kalmykova, Director of the Center for Open Education, Vladimir Khizhnyak, Head of the International Cooperation Department, as well as employees of the OCE and international services.

One of the key issues of the meeting was the promotion of Polytechnic’s online courses in India through the UEDUCATE platform.

The parties agreed to start the process of adapting and hosting SPbPU’s courses on the UEducate educational platform, which uses artificial intelligence elements for learning.

The discussion of educational cooperation, as well as other topics, continued with one more partner, with whom contact was established on the margins of the Indo-Russian Education Summit — Adamas University, one of the best private universities in India. In April, within the framework of the Summit, Polytechnic University and Adamas University signed a letter of intent for cooperation.

Alla Mazina, Deputy Head of International Education Office of SPbPU, told Indian colleagues about the possibilities of organizing joint postgraduate and master’s degree programs in 1+1 format. Zarina Asadova, Deputy Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility, invited Adamas University students to participate in international summer and winter schools of Polytechnic University.
