SPbPU: Polytechnic University and BRU launch intelligent robotics network lab
The Belarusian-Russian University (BRU) has launched a network laboratory of intelligent robotics and cyber-physical systems, created jointly with SPbPU. The launch took place during the visit of Vyacheslav POTEKHIN, Director of the North-West Interuniversity Regional Educational and Research Center «SPbPU-FESTO», and Yegor CHERKASHIN and Alexey MOLCHANOV, students of the Master’s degree program «Distributed Intelligent Control Systems» of the Institute of Computer Science and Technology of SPbPU, to BRU. The SPbPU representatives performed commissioning of the car assembly line model based on programmable logic controller and conducted basic training of the BRU employees on the operation of the created laboratory system.
SPbPU and BRU launch a joint network laboratory for intelligent robotics
The state-of-the-art equipment of educational laboratories in SPbPU and BRU allows students to work on joint projects on development and creation of software and hardware complexes of cyber-physical and robotic systems and allows to reach a new level of practice-oriented training, emphasized Vyacheslav POTEKHIN.
The objective of creating the network laboratory is to integrate intellectual and material resources of the universities — SPbPU and BRU — to train qualified engineering personnel on the world’s best examples of technology and didactic equipment using innovative methods of network learning, as well as for more intensive academic mobility of students and teachers.
Based on the network laboratory, fundamental and applied research in the field of intelligent robotics and control systems will be conducted; innovative technologies and hardware and software solutions for industrial automation, robotization, and high-tech production control tasks will be practiced, commented Sergey BOLOTOV, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineeringat BRU.
