SPbPU Showcases Innovations at Rossotrudnichestvo Exhibitions
The end of 2023 was full of international educational projects. SPbPU actively participated in events organized by Rossotrudnichestvo. Exhibitions, webinars and selection events were held in different countries: Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Lebanon.
Employees of the SPbPU Department of International Education conducted a series of webinars in English, French, Turkish, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. The broadcasts were held live and their recordings are available on Polytechnic University’s official English-language channel. International students of SPbPU from different countries took part in the webinars. They told their compatriots how to enroll in Polytechnic University, how to study for free. They shared stories about their life in Russia.
Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices hold many events to help Russian universities attract foreign applicants to higher education programs. Their exhibitions promote Russian education and science abroad. At the end of November, an exhibition-presentation «Study in Russia» was held in Astana. More than 30 universities came from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tomsk, Kazan, Voronezh, Saratov and other Russian cities.
Polytechnic University’s mount was visited by about 500 future students — admission under the quota of Rossotrudnichestvo, requirements, necessary documents, deadlines for applications and entrance tests — only a few questions that interested applicants and their parents. Anna Kuznetsova, specialist of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility, and Georgy Shkolnik, manager of the Center for Work with Entrants, told the children about the possibility of internships in St. Petersburg, Russian and foreign companies, about student life at Polytechnic University (availability of sports sections, complexes and student associations).
Information technology, physics, construction and design are the most popular with students from Kazakhstan today.
Our employees took part in the press conference «How to enroll in a Russian university», organized by the news agency «Sputnik. Kazakhstan». Olga Filonova, head of the Russian House representative office in Astana, noted that all the participating universities almost unanimously speak about the high motivation of applicants from Kazakhstan — most of them clearly understand what they want to do.
In December, Polytechnic University participated for the second time in the exhibition of Russian education organized by the Russian House in Ankara.
In addition to Polytechnic University, 16 leading Russian universities from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and other cities took part. Visitors were able to personally communicate with representatives of universities and get answers to their questions. The applicants and their parents were interested in SPbPU educational programs and admission opportunities.
The exhibition was timed to coincide with the selection events for Turkish citizens within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for free education in Russian universities. Thus, motivational interviews were held for candidates who applied for bachelor, specialist, and master’s degree programs and postgraduate studies. During the interviews future students demonstrated their portfolios and told about themselves. The working group for the selection of candidates included representatives of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Turkey, the Russian House, the Ministry of National Education of Turkey and a number of leading Russian universities, including St. Petersburg Polytechnic.
«Interest in Polytechnic University among applicants from Turkey does not fade away, — summarized the results of the selection tests,» said Albina Bakurina, leading specialist of the department for work with foreign students of SPbPU. «Many guys purposefully want to enter SPbPU and choose our university as their first priority. When choosing Polytechnic University, candidates are guided by the high level of teaching staff, the content of programs, feedback from students and recommendations of Polytechnic friends. Some expressed admiration for the university campus, admitting that it would be comfortable to study in such an environment».
This year the most popular areas of training at SPbPU for those entering under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation were software engineering, information systems and technologies, heat power engineering, construction, mechanical engineering, economics and linguistics.
We would like to remind you that the deadline for applying for training under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for a number of countries has been extended until January 31, 2024. Therefore, applicants still have the opportunity to enroll. To do this, you need to register on the portal education-in-russia.com and choose Polytechnic University as the first priority among other universities.
