SPbPU Welcomes Tianjin Municipal Government Delegation for Partnership Discussions
The Kalininsky District Administration hosted a meeting of the District’s management with a representative delegation of the Tianjin Municipal Government of the People’s Republic of China. It was headed by Xu Yingwu, Chairman of the People’s Government of Wuqing District of Tianjin. Polytechnic University was represented by Vladimir Khizhnyak, Head of International Cooperation Department.
The head of the administration familiarized the guests with the economic indicators and potential of the District, and spoke about cooperation with China. There are more than 290 industrial enterprises and numerous research institutes and renowned universities on its territory.
Wuqing District is an innovative development zone and the area is currently experiencing explosive growth. The District has established a strong industrial base and a modern business ecosystem. Numerous modern industries in the dominant sectors of artificial intelligence, new materials, biotechnology, energy-saving technology, environmental protection, etc. are being developed.
Representatives of Russian organizations and enterprises spoke about the scientific and technical potential of cooperation with Chinese partners.
Colleagues from China noted that currently St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is quite well-known in China. They asked the organizers of the meeting to invite a representative of the university to discuss specific proposals for cooperation with organizations and companies of the Wuqing Innovation District.
Vladimir Khizhnyak spoke about joint structures functioning in China and the results of cooperation between Polytechnic University and Chinese universities, scientific organizations and companies. He presented some innovative developments of Polytechnic University proposed for implementation and invited Chinese specialists to participate in the work of the International Polytechnic Accelerator and the International Center for Promotion of Entrepreneurial Activity of Foreign Graduates and Students.
Specific proposals for cooperation with Polytechnic University were made by the president of Shenzhen Greentest Technology Co. Xu Jun, Director General of the Russian-Chinese Business Park Chen Zhigang, Zhen Xuan, SPbPU alumnus and Deputy General Director of the China Business Center Trade and Investment Company Zhen Xuan, and Director General of Silk Road Technology LLC Georgy Blagov made specific proposals for cooperation with Polytechnic University.
