SPbPU Welcomes Vice-President of Lovely Professional University, Aman Mittal

Dr. Aman Mittal, Vice President of Lovely Professional University, paid an official visit to SPbPU. Lovely University is one of the largest private universities in India, located on a 45-hectare territory in the north of the country.

Dr. Aman Mittal met with Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dimitry Arseniev, Director of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade Vladimir Shchepinin, Head of the International Cooperation Department Vladimir Khizhnyak, as well as representatives of the Higher School of Industrial Management — Deputy Director Nikita Lukashevich and Associate Professor Olga Ergunova.

For Polytechnic University, it is important not just interaction between universities, we should move to the cluster principle of cooperation at the national level with the help of other large and strong universities. Special attention should be paid to the commercialization of scientific developments, which will allow us to turn scientific ideas into in-demand products and services, as well as to attract additional investment in scientific projects, — said Dmitry Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs.

In scientific activities it is planned to conduct joint research, exchange of experience and knowledge, development and implementation of innovative technologies. The realization of these plans will strengthen the scientific potential, increase the competitiveness of research and development, as well as stimulate the development of universities.

The meeting participants discussed plans to organize a joint international project competition for students, postgraduates and young scientists «SMART CITY 2030: Managing Sustainable Development of BRICS Cities». The contestants will develop projects in the field of urban development planning in the context of trends and prospects for future improvement of BRICS cities until 2030.

We hope that the competition will become a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience between young professionals from different countries and will help shape a new generation of leaders capable of ensuring sustainable development of the cities of the future, — shared Dr. Aman Mittal.

Vice President of the Professional University Lovely got acquainted with the projects of the Institute of Cybersecurity and Computer Science, the Polytechnic Supercomputer Center, the Nanobiotechnology research complex, and the Center for Open Education. The guest highly appreciated the level of SPbPU development and expressed readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
