Special drive for Ayushman Bharat Golden Card registration to begin in Samba from April 11

 

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Health Agency (SHA) is organising a special drive for Golden Card registration in Samba from 11th to 21st April in all BDO offices across the district.

The campaign is aimed at to achieve 100 per cent targets under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT scheme in the district. The people would require to bring ration card and Aadhar card to obtain their golden card.

Pertinently, the people with Ayushman Bharat Golden card get free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh in all government and empanelled private hospitals across India.

As per official data, Samba district has a total of 62,641 families with 3,04,510 souls eligible for AB PM-JAY SEHAT golden card. Out of these, 1,79,373 people have been registered, so far, the remaining 1,25,137 people will be covered during this special drive.

The registration drive is being held at BDO offices in Purmandal, Bari Brahmana, Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Samba, Sumb, Nud, Ghagwal and Rajpura.

Spelling out broad contours of this special drive, Chief Executive Officer SHA, Yasin M Choudhary, said, “Our aim is to bring every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir under the health care safety net of AB PM-JAY SEHAT scheme. Samba district has one of the lowest registration level among all districts across J&K. With cooperation from the people of the district during this special drive, Samba can emerge as the first district to have 100 per cent golden card registration.”

To strengthen AB PM-JAY SEHAT scheme in the UT, the government recently empanelled 3 more private hospitals thus taking the total number of private hospitals empanelled under this healthcare scheme to 69. Besides, 15 more private hospitals are undergoing the process of empanelment. Also, training and certification program for over 600 Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs) was organised to equip them with requisite expertise for implementation of PM-JAY SEHAT scheme.

The AB-PMJAY scheme is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government which provides a cover of Rs 500,000 per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. This ambitious health insurance scheme enables all residents of Jammu and Kashmir including employees and pensioners as well as their families to avail cashless quality healthcare services across public and private empanelled hospitals across India.It covers up to 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalisation expenses. There is no restriction on the family size, age or gender. All pre-existing conditions are covered from day one.
