Special Summary Revision-2022: Awareness programme, symposium held in GHS Chanderkote

RAMBAN: The Election Department, Ramban, today organized an awareness programme cum symposium on Special Summary Revision, 2022 under SVEEP here in the Government High School, Chanderkote.

The awareness drive was organised to sensitize the students and public in general, besides prospective voters about the Special Summary Revision under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand said that the students are the best messengers who could spread the message regarding Special Summary Revision to every nook and corner of the district and UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

He said that series of awareness programs are being organized in every educational institution and college in the district to acquaint the youth about the Special Summary Revision, which includes the enrollment of new voters.

He also appealed to the PRIs, prominent citizens, and members of civil society to play a significant role in achieving cent percent registration of prospective voters.

The Dy. DEO informed that special camps would be organized on September 24 & 25 and October 1, 2, 15 & 16 during the Special Summary Revision to enroll the persons of 18 year and above age. “ The information regarding documents required for registration as a voter has also been displayed on the hoardings and banners installed at prominent places in the district” he added.

Headmaster of the host school, Abdul Rehman, besides students Prathiba Thakur, Rajveer Mehra, Laksh Singh and Salman Haider also spoke on SSR 2022 and importance of voters.

Earlier, a pledge was also administered to the participants regarding registration of eligible persons as voters.
