SPJIMR Recognised as Pioneering School for Achieving Highest Level Five Ranking in Positive Impact Rating 2023

Mumbai – S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has, for the third consecutive year, been recognised as a pioneering school in the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) 2023. The PIR report, titled “Accelerating the societal impact of business schools,” was launched today at the UN PRME Global Forum in New York, reaffirming SPJIMR’s recognition as a pioneering school.

The PIR is a unique rating conducted by students and for students, assessing business schools based on their perceived positive impact on the world. In this fourth edition, 69 business schools from 25 countries were evaluated, and SPJIMR emerged as one of the seven pioneering schools in the highest level five category.

“We are honoured to be recognised as a pioneering school in the Positive Impact Rating 2023,” said Prof. Varun Nagaraj Dean, SPJIMR. “More than ever, the world needs wise leaders and innovators who create positive and sustainable economic, societal and environmental impact. We are proud to be part of a global community of business schools striving towards this common goal.”

Prof. Chandrika Parmar, Director, Development of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC) at SPJIMR, added, “SPJIMR as its foundational philosophy has tried to frame a curriculum that would equip its students to be not just good managers, but be socially and intellectually equipped to contribute  to a more equitable and just future. The PIR rating underlines the recognition and value our participants put on that pedagogy and the ecosystem that supports it. As educators we  will continue to collaborate with stakeholders and push the boundaries of business education to create a better world.”

The PIR is formally organised as an independent, not-for-profit Association under Swiss law located in Lucerne, Switzerland. The PIR is shaped by business school experts, the UN Global Compact, global NGOs such as WWF and Oxfam, and international student associations such as oikos, AIESEC, and Net Impact.
