Sports week commences at ABK High School (Boys)

ALIGARH  : Inter-House Sports Week at Abdul Baseer Khan (ABK) High School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University was inaugurated on January 23 to mark Republic Day celebrations.

 

Chief guest, AMU Registrar, Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS) urged the students to participate in sports activities with zeal as their participation in such events will not only help in their overall personality development but also teach them lessons in ethics and values necessary for developing team spirit, empathy, discipline, and healthy competition.

 

Prof. Asfar Ali Khan (Director, Directorate of School Education) and Prof. Qudsia Tahseen (Deputy Director) were the guests of honour.

 

Earlier, the Principal, Dr Samina welcomed the guests and underlined the importance of sports activities.

 

Several sports events, including Tug-of-War, Volleyball and Lemon-Spoon Race of tiny tots were held on the first day, with the Green House emerging as the leader in these events.

 

Ms Ghausia Iqbal conducted the programme.
