Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Communication a prominent name for PR and Advertising studies
New Delhi: Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Communication aka SACAC is a unit of Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry, an internationally-reputed organization working for social transformation through activities in education, health, research, livelihood generation, arts and culture.
In 2003, SACAC began as an autonomous non-profit institute for creative learning in media arts and communication. 13 years ago, SACAC made a humble beginning as a small mass communication institute in New Delhi with 25 students. Today, its alumni comprises of 800 art, media and communication professionals. The collective alumni base for programmes under ‘Continuing Education’ at SACAC is made up of more than 2000 people from varied backgrounds.
The Ad & PR course is SACAC’s flagship programme. The course is envisioned as an industry-oriented programme which uses a mix of case-studies, guest lectures, workshops and ‘live’ projects to give the students a real-world feel while in the classroom, so that when they graduate, they are ready to hit the ground running.
This year, armed with a refreshed curriculum with special focus and emphasis on PR and corporate communication- disciplines which are gaining importance in the promotional mix and becoming key tools to build imagery, SACAC announced the formation of its Academic Council which will comprise of:
· Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha – Ex-Dean, ISB (Hyderabad), Managing Director 9.9 Mediaworx, Ex-McKinsey
· Mr. Partha Sinha – Vice Chairman & MD, McCann Erickson – MWG India
· Dr. Jaishri Jethwaney – Former Professor & Programme Director – Ad & PR, IIMC, New Delhi; Currently, Professor – ISID, New Delhi
· Dr. Samir Kapur – Sr. Vice President, Adfactors PR
The Academic Council will play an advisory role regarding the programme as well as monitor progress.
SACAC has its alumni network spread across leading advertising and public relations firms throughout the country. With the refreshed course ware and renewed focus, SACAC hopes to equip new entrants in the Ad & PR industry with updated information and life-skills that are required to understand and master this ever-changing and dynamic industry.
Admissions to the course are currently open to graduates in any discipline. Admission will be through written exam followed by group discussion and personal interview. Classes commence in the beginning of August 2017.
