Sri Sri University Celebrates 10th Convocation ceremony with Padma Vibhushan Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Bhubaneswar: Sri Sri University, a distinguished academic institution, marked a momentous milestone with the celebration of its 10th Convocation Ceremony. 600+ students from various courses were presented with their respective degrees. The event was graced by the Founder and Lifetime President of Sri Sri University, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji. The proceedings were led by President of Sri Sri University, Prof (Mrs) Rajita Kulkarni and Vice Chancellor, Prof B R Sharma.
Shri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, the Honourable Minister of the Department of Higher Education, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Cooperation, Government of Odisha, served as the Chief Guest, underscoring the government’s commitment to education. Mr. Jo Leinen, a former member of the European Parliament and the Guest of Honour at the Convocation, applauded the remarkable achievements of Sri Sri University.
A notable highlight of the ceremony was the conferring of honorary degrees, “honoris causa,” upon three distinguished individuals. The esteemed recipients of this recognition were Padma Bhusan, Vaidya Devendra Triguna, Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik, the internationally renowned sand artist and Arjuna Awardee Shri Dilip Kumar Tirkey, President of Hockey India, all lauded for their exceptional contributions to society. Sri Sri University proudly conferred degrees upon 5 Ph.D. awardees: Dr. Guruprasad Dash, Dr. Nivedita Roy, Dr. Sipra Ram, Dr. Gopikrishna Panda, and Dr. Monalisa Patel, exemplifying the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
Awards were also given to 28 gold medallists across various programs and specializations for their outstanding academic achievements. The students were awarded gold medals in recognition of their exemplary performance in their respective disciplines.
SSU boasts a diverse array of 45+ programs, encompassing both pivotal and distinctive courses delivered through cutting-edge academic offerings. The university’s pioneering efforts in integrated health sciences, encompassing Osteopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga, Sports Physiology, Nursing, and the Faculty of Contemplative and Behavioural Sciences, have made a significant positive impact on healthcare and education.
Sri Sri University, in its decennial year, earned the prestigious NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to educational excellence. The university’s remarkable achievements were further underscored as it was ranked as the 8th Best Private University in India by Outlook-ICARE and secured a global ranking among the top 200 universities according to THE Impact Rankings 2022.
Of particular note, the Government of Odisha has taken a significant stride in establishing a regulatory framework for Osteopathy education, positioning Sri Sri University as a pioneer in this field in India. The Osteopaths trained by the university have provided non-invasive, drug-free, manual treatment to over 20,000 patients in 12 Government hospitals in the state, bringing hope and healing to many.
