Hyderabad: SRM University AP welcomes Dr. Kerry Healey, President of Babson College, on its Board of Governors. Dr. Healey is a widely respected academic leader and under her stewardship, Babson has strengthened its reputation and position as the recognized global leader in entrepreneurship education, consistently ranked as the top school in its category.
The Board of Governors at SRM AP is responsible for providing strategic direction to the management and on ensuring that the University stays on course of its mission and vision of being a global university.
The Board of Governors at SRM University AP has an illustrious academic lineup, comprising of Prof. Nicholas Dirks, Chancellor Emeritus, UC Berkley, Prof. Bertil Anderson, President Emeritus, Nanyang Technological University, Professor Prasant Mohapatra, Vice Chancellor for Research & Professor of Computer Science, University of California, Elizabeth Bradley, President, Vassar College, Pradeep Khosla, Chancellor, UC San Diego, Damodar Acharya, Former Director, IIT Kharagpur, and Dr. Kerry Healey, President, Babson College.
Welcoming her on-board, Dr. Jamshed Bharucha said, “It is a privilege to have Dr. Kerry Healey on the SRM AP Board of Governors. She has over three decades of experience in Academia, Government and Humanitarian Aid. We welcome her to SRM AP and are sure that she help us propel our Global education dream in India forward”.
Dr. Healey is the thirteenth president of Babson College and the first woman to hold that position. Prior to her academic leadership role, Dr. Healey has had a distinguished career in government service, having served as the 70th Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts. In this capacity, she was highly respected by both major political parties, and conducted her duties with exceptional thoughtfulness and dignity. In addition, she has led numerous philanthropic initiatives in US and abroad.
Dr. Healey was the founding member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. State Department’s Public-Private Partnership for Justice Reform in Afghanistan (PJRA). She also spent more than a decade as a public policy consultant to the United States Department of Justice for Cambridge-based think tank Abt Associates. She has been a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics and Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership.
In addition to the Board of Governors, the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Board at SRM AP comprises of leading academics from Tufts, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley, Cooper Union, Brown University, Georgia State, Olin College of Engineering, Vassar, University of California, San Diego, University of Massachusetts, Harvard, Syracuse University, and Babson College.
