SRM University – Three day event held more than 2000 architectural students from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were Participated
Chennai: The SRM School 0f Environment Architecture and Design (SEAD), has conducted Zone 6 – Zonal NASA Convention “EPOCH 17” a three day annual convention in Chennai( from 29th September to 1st October 2017). EPOCH provided the platform to showcase young architectural talent, exchange knowledge, learn and have fun all in one place. And this year, SRM SEAD holds the immense pleasure of getting the opportunity to host this event. Thiru. M. Aravindhan, I.P.S., Deputy Comissioner of Police, Thiyagaraya Nagar, Chennai inaugurated the three day national architecture conference. More than 2000 architectural students of 60 colleges from the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala were participated.
Organized for the benefit of students pursuing their studies in the field of architecture, the conference witnesses the eminent specialists sharing their best practice, research and innovations in the field of architecture.
The event witnessed lively interactive sessions between celebrity architects and participants. Workshops on Ceramic Modelling, 3D Printing, Griha, Digital Intution, Portfolio Making, Barrier Free Workshop, Cinematography and Tall Building Design were conducted by leading pioneers of the respected fields. There was an overwhelming response participants across the country. More than 44 on spot events and 6 seminars were conducted.
Speaking on the occasion Thiru. M. Aravindhan, I.P.S., Deputy Comissioner of Police, Thiyagaraya Nagar, Chennai, said “I am delighted to be a part of the convention. Knowledge is useful only when it is used for greater good. Learning from peers is the best way to enhance knowledge.”
The second day Ruben’s Trophy’s was organized to depict the 60 Colleges academic work of all years beginning with basic craft and drawing to the big scale project in the thesis, will be displayed for the panel of five member jury who are leading practicing architect. 8 works will be selected by the jury from which academic work of top college will be awarded. The evening dedicated to Cultural where participants will showcase their creative and aesthetic talents by various competitions like Dance and Battle of Bands. The third and the final day, workshops will come to a conclusion as does EPOCH, with the winner announcements and band march being the highlights of the day.
Overall, the whole affair is anticipated to be a much awaited and thoroughly informative and fun filled event for everyone attended. This Zonasa- EPOCH, it’s all about the students, them together united and as individuals, giving them the platform to become better architects and a human being of quality
