St. Petersburg Polytechnic University develops Russian-Indian cooperation

As part of their strategic partnership, Russia and India continue to strengthen cooperation in various areas. Education, culture and science are important areas of cooperation, so joint research, student exchanges, and cultural events contribute to strengthening friendly relations between the peoples of Russia and India.
One of the leading engineering universities and a driver of technical and economic education in Russia, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU, Polytech) forms a unique partner network covering many countries of the world. Polytech’s ties with leading Indian universities have been developing fruitfully since the establishment of the Russian-Indian Network of Institution of Higher Education in 2015. Today, among the 12 partner universities of SPbPU are Indian University of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chandigarh University and many others.
Polytechnic University implements joint projects with Indian universities and research centers in the development of new materials and nanotechnologies, information technologies, agriculture, ecology, waste processing, biotechnologies, etc. For example, Polytechnic researchers are involved in such relevant projects for India as creation of new semiconductor devices for power electronics, applicable in power grids, electric cars, high-speed trains; development of modern diamond processing technologies; research on domestication of agricultural crops.
St. Petersburg Polytechnic University actively develops partnerships with Indian universities in the field of higher education. The cooperation covers a wide range of programs – from bachelor to master’s degrees, includes academic mobility and additional professional education. In recent years, more than 20 distinguished professors from the best universities in India have lectured at the Polytechnic University, and more than 150 students from India have received a diploma of higher education. SPbPU is ready to implement new joint educational projects with Indian universities and is happy to expand mutual cooperation to reach new heights.
In 2022 and 2023, Polytechnic University acted as a strategic partner at the 4th and 5th BRICS+ International Municipal Forum, participated in the 7th International Conference on Nanostructuring by Ion Beams, held in Dehradun at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and AICGS-2023 (Annual International Conference and Global Summit), organized at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara. SPbPU regularly participates in educational exhibitions in India.
As part of its work to promote Russian higher education and strengthen scientific cooperation, Polytechnic University will take part in a large-scale specialized event – the Indo-Russian Education Summit, which will be held from April 11 to 13 in New Delhi. All participants of the summit will be able to get acquainted with educational programs and areas of cooperation offered by St. Petersburg Polytechnic University at the stand of the University. We invite all those interested to visit the Polytechnic’s exhibition stand, to take part in discussions and negotiations on a wide range of issues of Russian-Indian cooperation, especially relevant against the background of Russia’s presidency in BRICS this year.
