St. Xavier’s High School organizes online Anger Management session by well-known actress Jayashree Arora

Ghaziabad: St.Xavier’s High School, Ghaziabad, NH 24, organized Mandala Workshop and Anger Management webinar sessions via their Facebook page on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Ms Jayashree Arora, a motivational speaker and film, TV and theatre actress, conducted the anger management session.

Around 500 students explored new realms of their artistic bent in the Mandala Workshop & Competition which was open to the age group of 5-15. The participants learnt about the brief history of Mandala art form and created different patterns from geometrical designs during the workshop conducted by Ms Karishma, Art teacher of St.Xavier’s High School, Ghaziabad.

On the other hand, the Anger Management session conducted on Sunday helped the students in learning and comprehending the changing surroundings. Addressing the participants, Ms Jayashree Arora, who has given stellar performances over the years like in Bhagwanti in Doordarshan’s serial Hum Log to playing Shah Rukh Khan’s mother in Chak De India addressed parents and students by suggesting tips on how to manage frustration & anxiety and create stronger base for communication in the family. She also said, “It is a commendable effort by St. Xavier’s to arrange such interactive sessions for the collective good of younger minds and parents struggling to maintain balance in their homes. Anger has become a common emotion in this lockdown, amongst parents, children and teachers. It can be very well managed if we understand the origin of this emotion scientifically- our brain has two hemispheres- right and left. Right part becomes active in frustration, but left part lets the logic sink in. In order to manage our anger, we must give ourselves some time and let the left brain activate the logical side. Teenagers must also avoid getting in such situations when they already know their parents won’t like it. It is easier said than done, but after all we love our families. Anger can ruin relationships and nobody wants that, so it is better we manage it by distractions, open communication and being empathetic to each other.”

St. Xavier’s understand that the students in their early years must be guided in the right direction that can help them learn and grow. Lateral and vertical thinking both are equally important for the students to perform well in academics and co-curricular activities. The school has been organizing webinars & workshops in collaboration with subject experts and certified trainers for the overall development & engagement of their students.

Mrs. Nandita Agarwal, Head Mistress, St. Xavier’s High School, Ghaziabad, elaborated on the changing phase of educating students, “Our institution believes in the philosophy of Explore, Engage and Excel. These budding minds have unique talents that need guidance. Each student is special and we cannot let this lockdown stop us from nurturing their skills in the best possible way. Live workshops and webinars are helping us stay connected with them in their unique journey of virtual learning.”
