Startup by Ashoka University alumnus assists schools with admission during Covid-19

New Delhi: Edunify, a Lucknow-based-ed-tech start-up is helping parents and schools navigate through admission processes using their online Uniform Application amidst the disruptions caused bythe COVID-19 pandemic. Founded in 2018 by Ashoka University alumnus Harsh Karamchandani along with Mohammad Yousuf and Haroon Beg, Edunify helps schools connect to prospective parents online and enables them to select the right school for their children.

“Graduating with a liberal arts background from Ashoka University helped me in identifying pain points of schools and parents in a holistic manner.Since the lockdown started, we have been working closely with our partner schools in 7 cities across India to help them connect with parents and conduct the whole process from admission enquiry to fee collection online. During the pandemic, we have facilitated admissions worth 4.5 Crores by connecting parents with the right schools online” says Harsh Karamchandani, CTO, Edunify.

During the early days of their entrepreneurial journey, Ashoka University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship provided the trio with regular support, mentorship and resources that helped them scale up.

“Edunify has shown a lot of promise as a startup coming out of Ashoka University. Their unique offerings highlight deep understanding of problems faced by schools and parents. We supported them during their early days and hope to see them scale their venture in the coming years”, says Dr. Priyank Narayan, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Ashoka University.

Since its launch, Uniform Application has become India’s largest school discovery platform, with more than 3 lakh parents visiting the website each month to find information about 1.5 Lakh schools across the country.

Apart from Lucknow, Edunify today has presence in 7 major cities in India, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Noida and Dehradun. The team now has over 15 members who work relentlessly to provide the best services to their partner schools and parents.
