Steel Minister chairs press meet at Jammu; New Industrial Policy-2021, J&K will change the face of industrial development in the region, says the Minister

 

JAMMU : Union Minister of Steel, Ramchandra Prasad Singh chaired a press meet at Jammu today.

Acknowledging the existing steel industry of Jammu & Kashmir, the Minister said that the Government is encouraging the Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) owing to their potential to provide maximum job avenues in the country. Saying that the New Industrial Policy-2021, J&K will change the face of industrial development here, the Minister emphasized that the policy is going to generate numerous job opportunities in the region.

The Minister further said that with the Government’s scrap policy, secondary steel production would be boosted. The consumption of the steel is also going to increase due to the ongoing and upcoming developmental projects in the region thereby giving boost to the economy’, the Minister added.

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Puneet Kansal; Chairman Steel Authority of India, Soma Mondal and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer among other senior officers were also present at the press meet.
