Stellenbosch University: Three SU staff members receive DHET University Staff Doctoral Programme grants
Stellenbosch University (SU) recently received the outcome of the 5th phase of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) University Staff Doctoral Programme selection process. Three SU candidates were successful and will each receive a grant to the value of R500 000. The duration of the grants is 3 years.
Ms Malefu Moleleki (Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) Ms Megan Leigh Snow (Vencencie) (Psychology) and Ms Joani Groenewald (Visual Arts) will now have the opportunity to complete their doctoral research with the financial support received through this highly competitive and prestigious programme.
The University Staff Doctorate Programme (USDP) is a programme by the South African Department of Higher Education (DHET), with the University of Pretoria (UP) as the implementation support partner and was first introduced in 2018. It aims to develop collaborative professional development opportunities for staff in higher education institutions in South Africa “to transform teaching, learning, researching and leading towards enhanced quality, success and equity in universities”.
