Story of Chandrasekhar Sahoo: from a Paper man to a PhD scholar
Bhubaneswar: “When there is nothing, there is the possibility of everything.” Proving the statement right, Chandrasekhar Sahoo, a youth from Jajpur district who used to be a newspaper hawker to continue his studies, has cracked PhD entrance in Utkal University in the department of Public administration.
Born in Kacharasahi of Korai block to a poor family, Chandrasekhar never given up on his dream to becoming a professor. When he was in college, his father diagnosed with mental disease, after that his family faced problem to meet their bread and butter, than he chose to newspaper hawker as his profession. He used to give newspaper to people’s house in the morning and after that he used to go collage. Even he has got her 2 sisters married by his earnings. Despite many odds in his life he never given up.
After getting selected in the PhD entrance exam in Utkal University, in the department of Public administration, Chandrasekhar said, “Still, I am unable to believe that I cracked entrance exam. This has happened only because of my hard work and sheer dedication. I would like to thank my parents, teachers and each and every one who have been with me throughout my journey.
Overwhelmed by the son’s achievement, mother Basanti Sahoo said, I am very happy that my son has selected for PhD. There was a time when we struggled for a meal. But my son’s dedication and hard work brought him here. I pray to lord Jagannath for his future endeavors’’.
