Strategise Covid mitigation measures at local level for smooth implementation of Govt restrictions: DC Anantnag to officers

Anantnag: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla directed the concerned officers to ensure smooth implementation of the government restrictions to contain the 2nd Covid Wave. He passed these directions while taking a meeting of elected public representatives and concerned officers here at Dak Bangalow Khanabal.

The President MCA Hilal Ah Shah, presidents of all municipalities, ADC Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, SP Nikhil Borkhar, SDMs, ACR, EOs of all municipalities and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

While praising the officers for their commendable work during the first wave, the DC said the past experience will help mitigating the pandemic this time again. “The ultimate aim is to reduce the human contact which will in turn reduce chances of exposure and infection rate”, he emphasised.

Stressing on strategizing the Covid prevention measures at local level, the DC urged for taking the trade associations, transporters, Auqaf Committees and other stakeholders on board so the restrictions on markets, transport and gatherings are implemented in letter and spirit.

Dr. Singla also called for strict legal action against the violators of SOPs for larger public safety and urged the magisterial and police authorities to ensure the same.

During the proceedings, all the participants put forth their valuable suggestions regarding the covid mitigation.

Earlier, the DC held a separate meeting with concerned health authorities to arrive at the possible factors associated with the death of covid patients of the district.

The meeting was informed the majority of patients who died due to Covid-19 had one or more Comorbidities like CAP, CAD, CKD, ICH, HTN, COPD etc who developed bilateral pneumonia and succumbed to the disease.

It was also given out that the delayed reporting of covid-19 positive cases proved fatal as complications had already developed.

Highlighting the importance of early reporting, the DC directed the health authorities to ensure the symptomatic patients are tested and treated in time.

Dr. Singla called for aggressive testing of the family members of the deceased patients besides the above 60 comorbid persons by using Swasthya Nidhi data.

He also passed directions for augmenting ventilator facilities at the District Hospital besides ensuring uninterrupted and stable power supply there.

The meeting was attended by Principal and HOD Medicine, GMC Anantnag, CMO, Dy CMO, MS GMC, Exen and AE PDD and other concerned officers.
