Students at the Rub Goldberg Machine Festival

A team of students from the Physics and Technology Institute of PetrSU and schoolchildren were awarded a 2nd degree diploma in the sixth Rub Goldberg festival of machines, organized by the city methodological association of physics teachers in conjunction with the Petrovsky Palace.
Students of the Physico-Technical Institute Vitaly Vaskin and Artem Vandzhala (supervisor G.M. Yanyushkina, associate professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of General and Professional Education) and students of secondary school No. 36 with in-depth study of foreign languages Zakhar Fedorov and Dmitry Dobrokhodov (supervisor O. Builina, physics teacher) took part in the festival as part of one team – “Innovators”.

The objectives of the festival: the formation of students’ motivation to engage in technical creativity; increasing the cognitive activity of students to study physics; mastering information technologies for creating videos.

The subject of creative activity on the creation of a machine is dedicated to the year of science and technology in Russia. The team (captain Vitaly Vaskin) demonstrated their car in action, prepared a video about the operation of the car, in which they commented on the ten steps implemented in the car.

The festival caused a lot of positive emotions. I recall the words of Genrikh Saulovich Altshuller, the creator and first developer of the theory of solving inventive problems, methods of developing creative imagination: “The higher the percentage of creative individuals in a generation, the better and higher the society.” Many thanks to the organizers of the festival for its preparation and holding, noted the participants.
