The MediaSkills conference was held for the first time in Saint Petersburg for journalism students from the leading universities of the country. Fifteen students of “Television” and “Media Communications” of the Ural Federal University, who passed the competitive selection of Beloyarsk NPP with the project of Fish Festival, took part in the event as representatives of the Sverdlovsk region.

For three days, master classes, lectures, and workshops by media industry professionals were held for 60 future journalists and PR specialists with the support of Rosenergoatom Concern. The result was the development and defense of communication projects related to the industry and increasing the loyalty of residents to the nuclear power industry.

Students of Ural Federal University proposed a project for a street-food festival “Fishing on Beloyarka”. It is a festival that includes fishing competitions, numerous master classes, contests and quizzes. The special feature of the event is the “Atomic Cuisine”, which includes hot dogs with Northern pike, zander nuggets, perch shawarma and other extraordinary dishes.

“All fish for cooking will be caught in the Beloyarsk Reservoir. Guests of the festival will be able to make sure that the food caught or grown near the nuclear power plant is not only very tasty, but also environmentally friendly. In fact, the nuclear power plant has no impact on the environment. We are glad that our idea caught the attention of the jury from Rosenergoatom and hope that the project will be implemented,” said Darya Gordeeva, student of the Ural Federal University.
