Students’ induction program concludes at GCET Jammu

 

JAMMU : Two week students Induction Program for B.Tech first year students, 2023 batch, organized by the students induction program cell, GCET Jammu culminated today.

The program was organized under the Patronage of Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET Jammu.

On this occasion, Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma appreciated students for their enthusiastic participation in the induction programme for their inclusive development of personality. She further stated that it was designed not only to guide students for various job prospects but also to explore their latest talent and creativity.

The closing address was given by Prof. (Dr) Anita Brar, Coordinator for Student Induction program wherein she highlighted the real objective of the programme to make students inquisitive learner, socially conscious, ethically and morally upright individuals. She assured students that the knowledge and exposure they got during the two week induction programme will be beneficial for their overall career and personality development of life.

The program was followed by lectures and interactive sessions by experts and eminent speakers from reputed institutes/ companies across the country. Several questions and queries were raised by the students during the interactive session and were answered amicably by the experts. All the sessions were interactive, motivating and insightful. Interactive sessions on “Mind Management” by Prabha Salathia, Er. Ritvik Mahajan and “Skills for personality enhancement” was given by Dr. Neena Gupta Vij from Central University Jammu which were highly applauded by the students.

An energetic session by Sandeep Sharma & Sanjeev Kumar from Jammu University on “Yog” was well received which stimulated the minds of students for a healthy and stress free life. Enlightening sessions on “Personality Development through sports and International peace” were shared by Brij Bala and Prof. Ashaq Raza. Immediate attention grabber and motivational lectures on “A successful entrepreneur, career opportunities and the journey from campus to corporate” were shared by Er. K.R. Suri, Dr. Ankush Anand, Divya Sharma and Er. Nahida Malik. “Goal setting and time management’’ by Akshita Sharma and Sukhmani Paul Kour inspired students to set their goals which is self desired and self motivated. The presentation was given by Rajinder Kotwal and Manu Rajput on “value education and universal human values” which enriched students with Indian ideological belief.

Faculty from Host College also holds sessions on various topics like“Counselling and T&P activity” and UHV by Dr. Ajay Abrol, Dr. Dina Nath, Er. Sanjeev Gupta and Er. Manoj Gupta where as Dr. Sarbjeet Singh talked about ”Innovative technology” followed by a session on ’’Emerging trends in cyber security and engineering’’ by Er. Neeraj Dubey. All the sessions were appreciated by the students. Certificates were given to all the eminent speakers, student coordinators and to winners of different events.

Beside this, other events like poster making, slogan writing, rangoli and sports activities were also a part of the programme. The plantation drive was organized in the gracious presence of principal Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma and was witnessed by Heads of different departments, Coordinator Induction programme, Committee members, Staff members and the students. During the valedictory function, Sohan Lal Sharma, Registrar GCET addressed the students and wished them for their congenial and successful stay in the campus. The program was attended by around 170 students. The organizing team comprised of Shammi Kumar, Dr. Raman Gupta, Dr. Heera Saini, Dr. Neerupama, Altaf Ahmad, Er. Karan Kapoor, Er. Bharat Bushan, Er. Neeraj Gupta, Er. Jaswinder Singh, Er. Meenakshi, Er. Ajay Attri, Balbir Singh, Om Prakash and students from 3rd, 5th & 7th Semester Made a remarkable contribution to make the programme a great success. Altaf Ahmad, Asstt.
