Students of IIMB’s Public Policy & Management Programme to host ‘Utthan’, a policy summit, on November 10
Bangalore: The Office of Post Graduate Porgramme in Public Policy Management (PGPPM), in association with the Public Policy Club (PPC), will host a summit titled ‘Utthan’, based on the theme ‘Bridging the Gap – Innovative and Inclusive India’, on November 10, 2019.
The goal of the summit is to create a platform for experts to deliberate, discuss, and drive change through high-level dialogue on the theme. Another critical aspect of the summit is innovation, which acts as a force multiplier in leveraging the potential of human resources in the country.
C.N. Ashwath Narayan, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, will deliver the keynote address at the event. He is also the Minister of Higher Education, Information Technology & Biotechnology and Science & Technology in the Government of Karnataka.
The event will incorporate panel discussions that will see policy speakers and industry leaders discussing and debating on various topics surrounding the theme. The speakers include Prabhat Pani, Senior Advisor, Tata Trusts, Tabrez Ahmad, Dell Technologies, Group Director Government Affairs and Public Policy, Nazia Erum, PR and Advocacy, Amnesty International, and Abha Singh, former bureaucrat. Other panellists will be Sanjeev Garg, Managing director, Pipavav Railway Corporation Limited, Davinder Sandhu, Partner, Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG), Shrinivas Kowligi, Partner, Ernst & Young (EY), and Pugalendi, Head of Marketing, Chettinad Cement.
A policy symposium (paper presentation) will also be hosted on public policy issues within the broad framework of the theme of Utthan, Bridging the Gap – Innovative and Inclusive India. The winners will be given cash prizes.
Quriosity, a quiz competition in collaboration with IndiaSpend, with around 100 participants, will be conducted digitally.
