Students of IMIT PetrSU are winners of the championship in algorithmic programming RuCode

Petrozavodsk State University co-organized the RuCode Festival, an international intensive training program for young programmers.

Almost 20 thousand people from 57 countries of the world and 80 regions of Russia took part in the All-Russian educational online festival on artificial intelligence and algorithmic programming RuCode, which was held from August 31 to October 4, 2020.

RuCode Festival is an international intensive training program for young programmers who want to improve their knowledge and gain experience in participating in competitions. The main idea of the festival is to give everyone an opportunity to take their first steps in the field of technological knowledge. The first festival took place in the spring of 2020 and brought together more than 10 thousand participants from 80 regions of Russia.

The festival was held in two directions: artificial intelligence and algorithmic programming.

Our goal is to give everyone the opportunity to become successful and in-demand IT specialists, to become part of a large and friendly community. I am sure that such an educational format, combining free courses, intensive intensive courses and the opportunity to compete with the best from all over the country, will be in demand in the future,

– noted Alexey Maleev, director for distance programs at MIPT and initiator of the RuCode festival.

Rusode Festival consisted of three main stages.

At the first stage, more than 15,000 people took free online courses in sports programming, learning C ++ and artificial intelligence. Courses are available to everyone on the website (rucode.net) of the festival and after its completion.

The second stage is an interactive intensive course consisting of online lectures, interactive lessons and problem analysis. Classes were taught by teachers from leading Russian universities and experts from large IT companies. The intensives were held in two directions: artificial intelligence and algorithmic programming.

The result of the intensives on artificial intelligence was the presentation of the best solutions of the participants on the proposed problems from Sberbank and MIPT, which took place on October 3. The final of the algorithmic programming intensives was the big online championship, which took place on October 4. You can watch the broadcast and analysis of the problems by following the link .

More than 50 students and schoolchildren of Karelia took part in the festival. Those of them who have shown themselves actively received qualification improvement certificates.
The following students of PetrSU became prize-winners of the algorithmic programming championship: Olga Masaeva, Vsevolod Alshanin, Pavel Ermolaev, Natalya Lezova, Natalya Sobyanina.

This was already the second RuCode festival. The first festival took place in April.

In the spring, we held the first RuCode festival and saw a lot of interest in the study of algorithms and artificial intelligence, including from alumni and adults. The oldest participant at the festival was 50 years old last time. A strong component of RuCode is cooperation between colleagues from leading Russian universities, who together created a mix of different approaches to teaching, leaders of the IT industry and government agencies, who shared urgent tasks and formulated a practical request, increasing the relevance of the competition.

– said Alexey Maleev, director for distance learning programs at MIPT, founder of Moscow Workshops.

All participants are looking forward to the third festival, and PetrSU hopes for further cooperation with the organizers.

The RuCode project is organized jointly with Petrozavodsk State University, in particular, the Club of Creativity of Programmers, and is implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
