Students of VIBGYOR Group of Schools sent cards, wrote letters to express gratitude to doctors for saving lives during the pandemic

New Delhi: To commemorate the occasion of National Doctors’ Day and recognise the selflessness of healthcare professionals, the students of VIBGYOR Group of Schools reached out to various doctors and other medical personnel to express their gratitude for their relentless service to the nation. Students from Pre-Primary to Grade 12 from all 40 VIBGYOR schools sent heartfelt emails, letters, cards and videos to thank doctors and medical staff, for their tireless efforts to save lives at the cost of their own safety, during one of the most devastating times in recent history. Many faculty members also sent messages.

Kavita Sahay Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson, VIBGYOR Group of Schools, said, “The value of doctors and all healthcare workers is certainly undeniable. Their efforts are indeed praiseworthy and our students are also aware of the contribution. On National Doctors’ Day 2021, through our messages and videos, we salute our frontline warriors who have left no stone unturned in their pursuit of serving the nation with responsibility, grace and fortitude. We will be forever grateful for the sacrifices they make and thank them, today and in the days to come.”

Between June 20 and June 30, VIBGYOR students visited hospitals and clinics near their homes, while adhering to all the COVID-19 protocols, to share handmade cards and letters. Some students emailed e-cards to the doctors and healthcare staff, while others recorded speeches for their online class sessions.

Teachers also used this occasion to remind children about the importance of staying indoors, wearing masks if and when stepping out of the house, and washing hands regularly to protect themselves from COVID-19. They also explained to students the importance of vaccinations in reducing the risk of infection.
