Students should become proficient like Eklavya and make the country proud

Bhopal : Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Omkar Singh Markam today urged the players at the concluding ceremony of the Eklavya Residential Tribal Schools National Sports Competition at T.T. Nagar Stadium that they must be proficient like Eklavya and make the counrty proud at the international level. Shri Markam distributed medals and certificates to the best performing players and teams.

Minister Shri Markam said that he is grateful to the parents who motivated their children to study in Eklavya Residential School. He raised the slogan of “Adivasiyon ki shaan hai-Eklavya Hamara mahan hai” along with the children at the sports ground.

Deputy Commissioner Tribal Welfare Department Smt. Seema Soni told that players gave their best performance for 1980 medals in 16 categories in the sports competition. As many as 4057 players took part in the competition. The title of Best Player of the Tournament in the National Sports Competition was bagged by Shalini Tomar of Sondwa from Alirajpur district. Uttarakhand bagged the title of Best EMRS State while Madhya Pradesh was awarded the Overall Champions Trophy. Minister Shri Markam felicitated the Head Coach of various states at the concluding ceremony.

Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare Smt. Deepali Rastogi, Smt. Kusum Markam and Director Tribal Regional Development Scheme Shri Rakesh Singh were present on the occasion.
