SuCCESS Project highlights women and crime as theme

The SuCCESS Project and the Euro-South American Criminology Network will promote on May 12th, at 10 am (Brasília time), the 4th SuCCESS Symposium – Research on Criminological Themes . The event, which will be held exclusively online and will address the theme Women and Crime , has a partnership with the Institute of Advanced Studies Polo Ribeirão Preto and the Center for Studies on Criminality and Public Security (Crisp) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.

Speakers will be professors from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Crisp researchers Roseane Lisboa and Ludmila Ribeiro; Professor at the University of Minho and researcher at the Center for Research in Anthropology (Cria), Manuela Ivone Paredes Pereira da Cunha; the dean of the Faculty of Nursing of Albacete, of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Raquel Bartolomé; and Raquel Maria Navais de Carvalho Matos, professor at the Catholic University of Portugal, researcher at the Research Center for Human Development and director of the Faculty of Education and Psychology.

In their presentations, they will address topics such as women’s work in prison, the effects of female incarceration on family dynamics, marginal businesses, and will also present data from an empirical study carried out in Portugal on women, crime and imprisonment. The moderation will be the professor of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP) of USP Ruth Estêvão.
