Successful participation of IEP students in the Ural Youth Conference on Banking

The second Ural Youth Conference on Banking (UMKO-2020), organized by the VEP Agency (Yekaterinburg), was held in a remote format, in which 4th year students of the Institute of Economics and Law took part with reports on various aspects of banking.
The participants of the Olympiad were Anita Airio with a report “Modern banking technologies in the digital economy”; Daria Zhurova – “Biometric Technologies in Banking: From Theory to Practice”; Olga Zhadanovskaya – “The level of monopolization of the banking sector of the Russian Federation”; Karina Kuznetsova – “Analysis of measures taken by the Bank of Russia and credit institutions to ensure and improve the level of information security”; Valeria Kupryakhina – “The system of fast payments as a step towards lowering bank tariffs in the field of money transfers”; Marina Mozhaikova – “Development of Internet Banking at the Present Stage in Russia”. By the decision of the jury, 1st place in the “Banking” section was awarded to Valeria Kupryakhina.

The main objectives of the UMCO-2020 were: identification of young professionals in the financial sector and assistance to them in realizing the potential of ideas; generalization of best practices in teaching banking.

The online platform brought together over 80 participants from 11 educational institutions. As in the previous year, the geography of the conference was international: in addition to Russian universities and colleges, there were educational institutions from Belarus and the Donetsk People’s Republic. The conference was also attended by invited experts: Trushkov Aleksey Anatolyevich, Director of the Department of PSS and Processes of the Ural Bank of PJSC Sber; Lutsenko Alexey Viktorovich, Director for Retail Business Development, Member of the Management Board of PJSC SKB-Bank, Ph.D., Associate Professor of UrFU, Head of the educational program “Finance in the Digital Economy”; Shuleshova Tatyana Yuryevna, Head of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection in the Market of Services and Non-food Products of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Sverdlovsk Region.
