SUO Mahima of NCC, CGC Landran wins CWS Award for Best Cadet
Senior Under Officer (SUO) Mahima of National Cadet Corps (NCC), CGC Landran from 3 Pb (I) Coy, Ropar, has brought laurels to the institution by winning the CWS Award for Best Cadet 2023-24, presented to her by Group Commander Brig. Rahul Gupta at the NCC Group Headquarters Patiala. Hailing from New Delhi and currently pursuing B.Sc. Biotechnology from CCT, CGC Landran, Mahima has been recognised for her outstanding performance and unwavering dedication within NCC.
In addition to having successfully attended 14 camps including the Inter Group Competition-Republic Day Camp 2023, Pre Thal Sainik Camp IV 2023, Annual Training Camp 2023 she has regularly participated in social activities such as tree plantation drives, Swachhata Abhiyaan, Anti Tobacco campaigns, and AIDS awareness campaigns.
Reflecting on her achievement, SUO Mahima said, “I am honoured to have won this award. I am grateful for the support and guidance I have received from my college, my teachers, and my NCC mentors. I aspire to join the Indian Army. Opting to be a part of NCC at CGC Landran has helped me become more focused, disciplined, and determined. It has also made me strive for excellence and sincerity in any task that I undertake. I believe that the training I am receiving as an NCC cadet combined with the nurturing and academically conducive environment at CGC would help prepare me well to achieve my aim of becoming an Indian army officer.”

SUO Mahima’s achievement adds to the illustrious tradition of CGC Landran’s NCC cadets. Notable achievers among them include CGC’s B.Tech. CSE student, Medhavi Tomar who had won NCC’s All India Best Cadet Award in 2019 and was felicitated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during PM’s NCC Rally in New Delhi; CGC’s B.Tech. CSE student, Khushdeep Dhiman who in the year 2023, represented the country in the NCC’s Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) to Bangladesh; And B.Tech CSE student, Karan Singh, who attended Republic Day Camp 2023 as well as the PM’s NCC Rally held at New Delhi.
