Susil Patra a Patient from Odisha Get Support From Narayana Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Mr. Susil Patra, 30 yr old gentleman from Baleswar, Odisha was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage 5 in 2022. He underwent dialysis for more than a month in his native town with no financial support. During Covid Pandemic, he struggled for his treatment, in various hospitals and then he came to Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Gurugram for further treatment under the experts supervision of Dr Sudeep Sachdev, Director and Sr, Consultant – Nephrology & Renal Transplant, Dr. Deepak Kumar Panigrahi, Associate Consultant – Nephrology & Renal Transplant and Dr. Swatantra Rao, Consultant – Urology, Andrology & Kidney Transplantation, Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Gurugram. He then began preparations for Kidney transplantation where his mother being his donor. Due to his severe financial constraints, NH also took up the challenging task of raising funds for this complex procedure.
Dr. Sudeep Singh Sachdev, Director And Sr. consultant, Nephrology and Renal Transplant, Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Gurugram who treated the patient, said, “The patient came to us in very depressed state. we decided to take up this case and counselled him for kidney transplant. His mother came forward for donation in order to save her son’s life. He felt rejected in life as he was the only earning member in family and he had no money for the treatment. Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Gurugram after analysing the situation, and arrange some support on diagnosis and treatment, even post-surgery.” After successful transplant surgery, the mother of the patient was discharged on post op day 5 and son was discharged on post op day 7.
