Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan: One month sanitation campaign launched in District Doda
DC urges people across all walks of life to join ambitious Clean India movement
DODA : Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was launched on Monday across Doda district amid conduct of a series of cleanliness drives and awareness events held in different parts of the district.
The launch also coincided with the celebrations of Teachers Day. The district administration Kick-started the month-long campaign from the district headquarters Doda.
The campaign was flagged off by the District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan in presence of President MC Doda, Ved Prakash Gupta; ADDC Doda Pran Singh; Councillors of MC Doda, District and Sectoral officers, besides students of different educational institutions were also present on the occasion.
At the flagging off ceremony, the DDC Doda directed the district and sectoral officers to make persistent efforts to spread the message of the Swachhta and make it a community level movement. “We need to make this campaign a regular feature of working till the aim and objective of this unique initiative is achieved” he said.
Seeking the cooperation of civil society members and other stakeholders, he said joint efforts at all levels would help the district to emerge as top performer in the entire UT.
Later, the participants took out an awareness rally from the DC office and passed through different areas of the Doda town amidst chanting of slogans in favour of Clean India and Green India.
Among others present in the program were ACD Doda, Dy Director Employment, AC Panchayat, ARTO Doda, DTO Doda, DEPO Doda, CAO Doda, EO MC Doda, besides other district and sectoral officers were also present.
Similar activities were also organised in other areas of the district including at all Panchayats of the district.
The local administration in Bhaderwah carried out a Cleanliness drive in the premises of all government offices. The main event was held at New Bus Stand adjoining the ADC office where NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and students of GHSS Boys, GHSS Girls, GHSS Sartingal and staff of ADC office and M.C Bhadarwah cleaned the surroundings.
Similar program was held at old Bus stand Bhaderwah, adjoining the Municipal office, under the supervision of MC Vice President Rishi Kumar.
