Swachhta Pakhwada related programmes held in AMU

ALIGARH : The Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University organized a “Waste to Wealth” exhibition as part of the Swatchchta Pakhwada campaign, which was designed to foster creativity, promote environmental sustainability, and encourage the recycling of waste material into useful products.  The five-member student groups participated in the event aimed at “Creating a Green Workplace”, which integrates with the Human Resource Management programme.

The participating student teams designed and created innovative products, models and prototypes using discarded office materials. Later, an exhibition of such products was organized to showcase the students’ talents and ability to think innovatively. The displayed eco-friendly items, including photo frames, wall decor and traditional paintings, wall clocks, functional bookshelves, pen stands, tabletop holders, calendars and file organizers, reflected students’ understanding of sustainability and the need for responsible waste management.

Working models and prototypes such as eco-coolers, water fountains, water dispensers, electric lamps, harvesting systems, vending machines and vacuum cleaners were also featured in the exhibition.

Prof Salma Ahmad, Chairperson of the department, along with other faculty members evaluated the designs and interacted with the participants on their innovative ideas.

The activity was coordinated by Prof. Feza Tabassum Azmi.

Meanwhile, the Central Automobile Workshop (CAW) and Transport department carried out a Swachhta Pledge under the leadership of Prof. Mohammed Ali, Member-in-Charge, CAW.

Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan, Associate Member-in-Charge initiated a cleanliness drive in the premises of the CAW with the help of its staff.

Later, Prof. Mohammed Ali, Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan, Mr. Md. Fozailuddin Tarique, Superintendent, and other staff members participated in a plantation drive.
