Swami Atmanand gave the message of humanity service: Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

 

Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Swami Atmanand guided us to serve the humanity. With his noble deeds, he turned the visions of Swami Ramkrishna Paramhansa into reality. Mr. Baghel said that Swami Atmanand made an important contribution in terms of spreading the message of Shri Ramkrishna and forming Maths across the country. Chief Minister was addressing the programme organized on the occasion of Swami Atmanand Jayanti in Paatan Tehsil Headquarters of Durg district today, via video conferencing. At the onset, Mr. Baghel garlanded the picture of Swami Atmanand at his residence office and paid him courteous tribute.
While inaugurating the programme, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel announced that ‘Dharsa Vikas Yojana’ will be launched in Chhattisgarh soon. Under this scheme, kuchcha roads and pathways will be concretized. A committee of Secretaries from Panchayat, Revenue and PWD Department will be constituted to formulate the scheme, told Chief Minister. Mr. Baghel further told that the English Medium Schools that are being opened in the state will be operated under Swami Atmanand English Medium School Yojana. He added that the schools which have been named after great personalities, their names will not be changed. Chief Minister said that after Kolkata, Swami Vivekananda had spent the most part of his life in Raipur. The buildings, where Swami Vivekananda had stayed during his Raipur visit, will be developed as the international memorials of Swami Vivekananda. On the occasion, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Cooperatives Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddhartha Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present.
Commemorating the contribution of Swami Atmanand, Mr. Baghel said that he taught us that service to humanity is the biggest religion. He dedicated his entire life to the service of poor. He established Math and Ashrams to collect money for serving the drought-affected. Swami Atmanand was a social reformer and an educationist. He established Ashram and library in Raipur. He was interested in sports as well. He also contributed towards development of panchayati raj institutions. He had contributed the funds for his second ashram for building camps in Pakhanjur, Raipur and Dharamjaigarh during Indo-Pak war in year 1971. The list of his contribution for child nutrition and in healthcare sector goes on and on.
Following the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda, we started Mukhyamantri Suposhan ABhiyan on Octover 2, 2019. Under this scheme, nearly 13.77 % children have been cured of malnutrition. We have started Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme and Urban Slum Health Scheme, said Chief Minister. On the occasion, a video film based on Swami Atmanand was screened. Mr. Sitaram Verma, Mr. Mehettar Ram Verma, Mr. Ashwani Sahu and office-bearers of various communities were also present.
