SWD holds awareness program at Ex Servicemen Hr Sec School Thathri

Doda: The Social Welfare department today organised a painting competition cum awareness program here at Ex Servicemen Hr Secondary School Thathri under “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan”.

Scores of students of the institution participated in the painting competition, besides awareness regarding drug menace was also imparted by the speakers.

The speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drugs and motivated the students to stay away from these substances. They were informed that the main aim of organizing such events is to spread awareness among the students and prevent the young generation from indulging in drug addiction.

“It starts merely as amusement but ends up becoming an addiction and the young generation are largely the most affected section with this and which needs to be eradicated completely from the society” the speakers added.

Meanwhile, scores of students also spoke on hazards of drug addiction, besides put in best efforts to colour down the ideas about drug menace on the drawing papers.

The best three painters were felicitated with mementos by the Chief Guest.

Among others present in the program were Principal Ex Servicemen Hr Sec School, besides other officials of concerned school and department.
