SWD Rajouri initiates “Door-to –Door’ campaign to mark int’l women’s week 2022

 

RAJOURI : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal and supervision of District social welfare officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, Superintendent Nari Niketan, Nidhi Sharma and OSC administrator, Nitu Sharma today launched door-to-door campaign to aware women about the international women’s day week and various governmental schemes for their uplift, betterment and empowerment.

Nidhi Sharma (Superintendent/Tehsil Social Welfare Officer), while interacting with Tribal Rural women, aware them about various social welfare schemes like pension for women in distress, SMAS, scholarships, BBBP, UJJWALA, STEP, Mahila-E-Haat and TRIFED.

During the campaign, it was observed that the tribal women are very good at gojri art & crafts and to benefit them economically, Nidhi Sharma broached the idea of online portal and to register them on Mahila-E-Haat and TRIFED.

Explaining the concept of-E-Commerce- selling and buying online, she assured the women that the social welfare department in collaboration with Tribal welfare department will work on it in the coming days.

The One Step Centre Administrator, Nitu Sharma also sensitised the Rural women about various women centric schemes launched by the government like women helpline 181, Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), widow pension, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojona (PMMVY) etc.

She highlighted the role of One stop centre and said One Stop Centres (OSCs) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace.
