SWOO brings livestreaming to classrooms

• SWOO creates an interactive technology allowing students and teachers to interact remotely in real time

Abu Dhabi: SWOO, the leading global livestreaming platform, announced today that it made roads into the education field, bringing classrooms into living rooms through its interactive platform where teachers and students can interact remotely in real time.
SWOO entered into a strategic partnership with Alef Education, the transformational technology-enabled education solution company to take education in the UAE to a whole new paradigm.
In a first-of-its-kind move, and part of its strategic partnership with Alef Education, SWOO has designed a new technology-enabled communication tool that provides the means for remote interaction between teachers and students.
The partnership’s focus is to provide maximum learning gain to the students and shape their future. Current education and the classroom has many logistical challenges – fix school time, fix class slots and limitation to collaborate and reach out to the teachers outside the school hours. Also, logistics challenges for teachers are to teach a large number of students simultaneously and/or teach students at a geographic apart location. Moreover, the collaboration envisions that the real-time collaborative virtual classroom concept will provide immense advantages to teachers and students.
As part of the launch, a school in Abu Dhabi, with help of SWOO, e-connected a teacher in the UK to deliver a lecture through SWOO interactive live platform.
Through a special SWOO supported live broadcast channel, educational material was introduced for direct circulation between the teacher and the students. By means of the advanced live transmission of image and sound, the teacher was provided with various tools and alternatives to present, introduce and discuss the educational content.
In addition, the new revolutionary technology provided the teacher with the opportunity to communicate effectively with the students to determine the individual weaknesses of each of them and discuss individual solution to them in real time.
SWOO platform, which was launched in August 2017 with installs exceeding 2 million now, is the first Emirati based live streaming application used by celebrities, influencers, leaders and experts to connect with audiences from across the globe. It was developed by Algorythma, the technology arm of Abu Dhabi Financial Group. Within six months of its launch, SWOO has amassed tremendous amounts of users, with a dominant user base from South Asia and the MENA region.

Commenting on the launch of the new product, Divyesh Mahajan, SWOO CEO, said: “Through the strategic partnership with “Alef Education”, SWOO aims to facilitate communication and improve remote interaction between students and teachers, thereby support the educational process through innovative technologies. Such ambitious projects undoubtedly inspire us to create new and distinctive products. It’s worth mentioning that this is a step forward in our innovation strategy to enable a convenient, on-demand and more personalized live streaming educational content to teachers and students in UAE and around the world.”
