T-20 Deaf and Dumb Cricket Federation Cup Inaugurated

 

Aligarh: The Cricket Association of Deaf and Dumb, in collaboration with the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association, successfully organized the inaugural T-20 Deaf and Dumb Cricket Federation Cup. Teams hailing from Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Haryana enthusiastically participated in the event.

Dr Azam Mir Khan General Secretary AMUOBA informed that the inauguration ceremony took place at the AMU Cricket Pavilion, graced by the presence of AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Gulrez, who ceremoniously lit the lamp to mark the commencement of the tournament.

The event witnessed a vibrant introduction of the teams to the esteemed Chief Guest, Smt. Chaitra V, Commissioner of Aligarh Range. Municipal Commissioner Mr. Amit Asrey took toss and tried his hand at batting, promoting the spirit of the cricket players present.

AMU Vice-Chancellor Mohammed Gulrez extended warm greetings to the organizers for orchestrating such a significant event on the university grounds.

In her address, Chief Guest Smt. Chaitra V congratulated the participating teams and expressed her delight in being a part of this public sports spectacle as the commissioner. She emphasized the equality of all players and encouraged them to showcase their talent on the field.

Distinguished guests, including AMU Games Committee Secretary Professor Amjad Ali Rizvi and Mr. Rajeev Sharma, among others, graced the occasion. Special thanks were extended to Uttar Pradesh Deaf and Dumb Cricket Team Captain , AMUOBA and event organizer Anubhav Gautam for his efforts in making the event a success.

The matches started with fervor at the AMU Cricket Pavilion. In the first match between Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh emerged victorious, setting a target of 149 runs for Rajasthan, who were unable to chase the target and were all out for 94 runs. The second match, held at the stadium between Gujarat and Jharkhand, saw Jharkhand clinching victory with a splendid performance.

The remaining matches are scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at 8:00 am at both the AMU Cricket Pavilion and the District Sports Stadium.
