Taekwondo Coaching Classes resume in Gindun Sports Complex: J&K Sports Council
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir sports council started a Full-fledged Taekwondo training at Gindun Sports Complex.
An internationally reputed coach Atul Pangotra who is a two times Common Wealth Medallist and five times world championship participant representing country is going to be the key figure in planning the sessions and drafting the curriculum for the training to the players.
While speaking on the occasion, Atul said that the main aim of this camp shall be to tap the talent and players who have knack for the game, so, they shall be imparted special training enabling them to represent J&K and country at the bigger stages.
He also said, instructors among the players who can groom other players will be provided training.
Atul was all praise for the newly created facility in the Gindun Sports Complex and said such centres will help to motivate coaches and players alike to work hard and take the J&K Sports to new heights.
Divisional Sports Officer, Nuzhat Farooq who is incharge of the sports activities said that similar camps for other games shall follow soon as Sports Council is devising a module to provide best coaching facility to players of upper age groups in view of the covid protocol for lower age group.
Nuzhat Farooq also informed that Gindun Sports Complex has a Health and Fitness Facility available for the athletes.
She also added that shifting of Taekwondo classes to Gindun is part of the expansion programme and they are also planning to conduct special camps and regular classes for all the interested players of other games too.
The function was attended by former International Footballer Majeed Kakroo, Prof Bashir Ahmad Shah former member Sports Council, Exe Engineer and other officers and officials from J&K Sports Council.
