Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib CME concludes with valedictory function

 

Aligarh : The six-day Ministry of AYUSH sponsored Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme of Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), engaging the faculty members in educational activities across a broad domain of topics concluded recently with a valedictory function.

Chief Guest, Dr Neeraj Tiyagi, CMO, Aligarh said: “Covid pandemic is causing fear and distress among people. During these times, it is imperative to motivate people to get their children inoculated”.

He assured that the district health administration will provide all the necessary support to the Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib for working in collaboration.

Prof Shagufta Aleem (Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College-AKTC) spoke on requisites for promoting health, extending life expectancies and preventing various diseases among masses.

Guests of Honour, Dr Rahul Kulshreshtha (DMO, Aligarh) discussed the health promotion and disease prevention approaches in Unani Medicine and his association with the Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib.

Prof F S Sherani (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine) said that CMEs allow faculty members to learn and discover viable ways to improve health care in the changing landscape of the medical field.

Prof Rubi Anjum (Chairperson, Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib) presented the department report and delivered the welcome address.

Padma Shri Hkm Syed Zillur Rahman (President, Ibn Sina Academy), Dr Tannu Anand (ICMR), Dr Shekher Grover (Maulana Azad Medical College), Dr Gayatri Vishwakarma, Dr Aisha Perveen, Dr Sayeed Ahmad and Prof Khan Mohd Qaiser spoke on the effective practice of social and preventive medicine for public health.

Dr Abdul Aziz Khan conducted the programme and Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar extended the vote of thanks.

Unani doctors and faculty members from various states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal attended the inaugural function.
